Stellar Modes:

• CPAP Mode: The device delivers a constant pressure throughout the breathing cycle.
• S (Spontaneous) Mode:The device detects the patients breathing effort and triggers IPAP (Inspiratory Positive Airway Pressure) during the inhalation phase when there is an increase in flow. It switches to EPAP (Expiratory Positive Airway Pressure) at the end of inhalation. The breathing rate and pattern are determined by the patient.
• Breakdown of Terms:
• IPAP (Inspiratory Positive Airway Pressure): Positive airway pressure during inhalation.
• EPAP (Expiratory Positive Airway Pressure): Positive airway pressure during exhalation.
• ST (Spontaneous/Timed) Mode or PS (Pressure Support) Mode: The device provides pressure support for every breath initiated by the patient. If the patients breathing rate falls below the backup rate set by the physician, the device delivers additional pressure to assist breathing.
• T (Timed) Mode:In this mode, the breathing rate and inspiratory time are preset by the physician, regardless of the patients effort. The device operates based on the predetermined timing.
• PAC (Pressure Assist Control):The device delivers pre-set pressure-assisted breaths. In PAC mode, there is no independent or flow-based breathing. Inhalation can be triggered by the patient if the breathing rate exceeds the pre-set value, or the device delivers breaths according to the backup rate.
• iVAPS (Intelligent Volume-Assured Pressure Support): Designed to maintain a target alveolar ventilation level by monitoring the delivered ventilation, adjusting pressure support, and automatically providing intelligent backup breaths. The iVAPS mode is suitable for patients weighing 66 pounds (30 kg) or more.
